Our General Dentistry services

Composite Fillings

Tooth-hued restorations are utilized to seal off cavities, preventing them from enlarging or causing irreversible harm to your tooth. These fillings, designed to blend seamlessly with the colour of your natural teeth, offer both aesthetic appeal and a comfortable feel.

Dental Bonding

Repair chips and cracks in your teeth or enhance the appearance of already healthy teeth.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges restore your smile by filling gaps left by missing teeth, improving both appearance and function.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are integral to restorative dentistry, significantly enhancing the strength, appearance, and durability of your teeth.

Dental Extractions

Dental extractions can relieve pain and prevent the spread of infection, improving your overall oral health. They also create space for orthodontic treatments, leading to better alignment and functionality.

Dental Implants

Dental implants serve as a replacement for natural tooth roots, providing a strong base for restorations like dental crowns. This not only brings back the functionality of your teeth but also ensures they look and feel as natural as possible.

Dentures

Discover new dentures or keep your full or partial dentures in top shape with our repair and maintenance services. These advanced dental prosthetics can effectively replace multiple or all of your teeth, ensuring minimal discomfort.

Root Canal

A root canal is a quick, pain-free procedure that offers fast relief and helps save your natural tooth.

Teeth Cleanings

Regular teeth cleanings and checkups every 6 to 8 months help prevent gum disease, reduce the risk of tooth decay, improve oral hygiene by removing plaque, and can even lower the chance of related health issues like heart disease.

The Importance of Early Intervention and Routine Care

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” This saying holds true for oral health. At our practice, your health is our top priority, and our commitment to routine care and early intervention comes from genuine care and concern. By keeping your teeth, gums, jaw, and tongue healthy now—and addressing problems early—you can avoid discomfort, pain, and costly surprises. That’s what keeps our patients smiling!

Keep Your Natural Teeth Longer

Did you know cavities are the leading cause of tooth loss for young adults, while gum disease takes the top spot for older adults? Practicing good oral hygiene at home is crucial, but routine exams are where we detect the earliest signs of tooth decay and gum disease. Early intervention helps prevent these issues from worsening, ensuring your natural teeth stay strong and healthy for longer.

Save Money

Routine teeth cleanings and exams are affordable and predictable expenses that fit easily into your budget. Treating minor issues, like small cavities with composite fillings, is also a cost-effective investment in your long-term oral health. On the other hand, more serious dental problems often require complex and expensive procedures. Preventative care saves you money in the long run.

Enjoy Peace of Mind

One of the best things about optimal oral health is how effortless it feels. There’s no pain, swelling, or sensitivity. No all-consuming toothache or self-consciousness about your smile. You can eat what you love without worry. Well-maintained teeth are naturally beautiful, comfortable, and reliable, allowing you to focus on living your life—not your oral health.

By prioritizing regular dental care and addressing issues early, you can enjoy a healthier, happier smile for years to come. Let us help you achieve that goal!

to schedule an initial consultation & exam.

Your consultation will include an examination of everything from your teeth, gums and soft tissues to the shape and condition of your bite. Generally, we want to see how your whole mouth looks and functions. Before we plan your treatment we want to know everything about the health and aesthetic of your smile, and, most importantly, what you want to achieve so we can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

A routine dental check-up typically includes a professional teeth cleaning and an exam. During this visit, your dental team removes stubborn plaque and tartar buildup that regular brushing and flossing can’t fully eliminate. This allows them to monitor your overall oral health and pay special attention to any problem areas.

Cavities are caused by leftover food particles, especially in hard-to-reach areas, that become a food source for bacteria in your mouth. These bacteria multiply and produce acidic byproducts that weaken your enamel, leading to tooth decay. A diet high in sugar or acidic foods and drinks, such as coffee or soda, can accelerate this process.

Genetics play a role in cavity development. Some people are more susceptible to cavity-causing bacteria or may have overcrowded teeth that are harder to clean. Regardless of genetics, maintaining excellent oral hygiene and healthy eating habits can significantly reduce your risk of cavities.

Yes. Fillings are essential for stopping tooth decay in its tracks and preventing future pain or more severe dental issues. Addressing the problem early while it’s still manageable is always in your best interest.

Tooth decay can often be prevented or even reversed with regular cleanings. For early decay, fluoride treatments and composite fillings can help. If the tooth is infected, a root canal may save it. Severely decayed teeth can be capped with natural-looking crowns or resurfaced with veneers. In extreme cases, extraction might be necessary, with replacement options like implants or bridges to restore function and appearance. The best treatment depends on your unique situation.

Yes. Preventative cleanings and routine exams are safe and encouraged during pregnancy to help avoid infections or other dental issues. For emergencies like infections, more invasive treatments, such as a root canal, may be necessary. However, elective procedures, like teeth whitening, should be postponed until after delivery.

Keeping up with regular dental care, regardless of your circumstances, is key to maintaining a healthy smile!

I was at the Bayside Dentistry office for routine dental care. First time I have met Dr Mandal. She is confident and positive and a pleasure to meet. I discussed a particular push back I have about one of their regular procedures about gum recession that I didn’t agree with. I liked the way she handled it and said it was my choice and gave a detailed explanation. I agreed with her in the end. My wife said “that if that woman can when an argument with you I’d like to have coffee with her”. Strong endorsement for sure. I like that Doc. My hygienist (Jessica) was also top caliber. She was detailed and thorough and fun conversation. Highly recommend Dr Mandal and the staff at Bayside Dentistry if you need first class care.

I’ve been coming to this dentistry since I was a teenager and now I am still a patient and my children come here too, always friendly staff, very easy to get a hold of via phone, very easy to make appointments and to reschedule if needed. The staff has been ever so patient with my son, and doesn’t fail to give a little prize from the treasure box after every visit. Since changing to Bayside dentistry I’ve noticed just as much positive caring staff as I did before In my opinion, this is the best place to go to Orillia!!!

Switched our dentist to this one after a terrible experience elsewhere. Our first visit was wonderful. The receptionists were lovely and the Dentist was absolutely amazing with my 8 year old son. Dr. Mantal was also very understanding, supportive and kind to me as well. Safe to say we made a good choice switching, and can't wait to come back again!
